It comes a day after Gemma Collins leaves but nothing could have prepared Craig for the loss of his brother. Understandably, after being told the devastating news this morning, the Corrie star made the decision to return to the UK so he could grieve the loss of his brother in privacy with his family members. He informed the camp by saying "I'm out of here guys." The camp was left feeling emotional at his unexpected departure and many shed a tear, including Nadia Forde and Melanie Sykes.
However, as two leave in the space of two consecutive days, two other camp mates join. Conservative MP Edwina Currie and recently voted off X Factor contestant Jake Quickenden make a surprise appearance. Edwina could stir trouble in the camp, after making hints to the Mirror's Mark Jeffries revealing, "I always welcome a debate. The only problems the others will have will be getting me to shut up. I’m Scouse. I’m a baby boomer. I’m a feisty lady. And I’m going in this to enjoy it as much as I can, which means there ain’t going to be silence.” This is in contrast with newly single Jake, who split with his ex just a month ago. It is clear to see already from an early stage that Mr Quickenden is quite the charmer and very interested in the ladies. A self confessed ladies man, he described himself as being "naturally a bit of flirt anyway. Sometimes I flirt and it's not even in that kind of way, it's my personality is quite forward I'm just quite touchy feely.” Sounds to me like he's already excusing his over friendly behaviour, but who could resist his toned muscley tattooed body anyway! Maybe we will see a romance blossom and the Katie Price & Peter Andre of 2014 will surface! Already members of the CIA, they are on an undercover mission set to be revealed in tomorrow nights episode! ![]() After just three days, Gemma Collins, known for her role in popular ITV2 reality series TOWIE, has departed the jungle. Unlike her previous Essex colleagues Mark Wright and Joey Essex, she just couldn't hack the lifestyle. Talk about starting as your mean to go on, Gemma could't even bring herself to make the helicopter journey into the camp, claiming to have a panic attack and choosing to be driven instead. You didn't have to be Mystic Meg to predict it wasn't going to be plain sailing for the celeb, even her co-star Lydia Bright predicted her leaving by day four, over estimating the 33 year old. Gemma seemed somewhat bipolar whilst down under, one moment feeling as if it were all too much whilst preparing to pack her bags , tears mixed with mascara running down her face, the next having an 'epiphany' and agreeing to soldier on. You have to give it to her though, after announcing "I feel like I have malaria" after her first night it must have been awfully traumatic, you also have to wonder if she has ever watched the show before, some contestants seem awfully naive. Collins did not partake in a single challenge but claimed by her departure that she had "found herself" and "wouldn't regret the decision" to leave. The Essex resident was the brunt of many jokes on social media, and many twitter users were enquiring as to whether she would receive her pay for such a poor effort and short duration in the jungle. It is alleged that after 72 hours in the jungle you are contractually able to leave and receive your full pay. This has led to speculation as to whether 'GC,' as she refers to herself, purposely planned her exit. However, where ITV are concerned, a spokesperson has announced "We're sorry to see Gemma go but respect her decision and wish her well." It seems as if there are no hard feelings, but as to where her short lived experience has left her in terms of a TV career, only time will tell.
